Financial precarity is increasingly part of everyday life. Yet the systems designed to deliver assistance remain fragmented across organizations, institutions, and communities.

SHELIO is developing new approaches to help coordinate direct assistance across these existing systems.

As an independent initiative, SHELIO brings together research, design, and cross-sector collaboration to explore new coordination infrastructure between citizens, civil society organizations, financial institutions, and the public sector.

Our work explores how direct assistance can become more programmable, coordinated, and scalable, while preserving dignity and autonomy in how it is received.

We are currently working with NGOs, practitioners, and institutional partners to develop and validate early-stage initiatives.

The first pilot is being developed in Torino, Italy.
